Conflict of Interest
The Journal of Islamic Economics and Philanthropy (JIEP) is committed to ensuring objectivity, transparency, and integrity in every stage of the publication process. To maintain scientific credibility, all parties involved authors, reviewers, and editors must declare any potential financial, personal, institutional, or academic conflicts of interest that could influence or appear to influence the evaluation and publication of a manuscript.
- Author Responsibilities
- Authors must disclose any financial support, research grants, or corporate sponsorships related to their study.
- Authors must state any non-financial relationships (such as institutional affiliations, advisory roles, or personal ties to financial/philanthropic institutions discussed in the article) that might create bias.
- A explicit "Declaration of Competing Interest"statement must be included in the manuscript upon submission. If no conflict exists, authors should state: "The authors declare no potential conflict of interest regarding the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article."
- Reviewer Responsibilities
- Reviewers must decline an invitation to review a manuscript if a direct conflict of interest exists—such as recent collaboration, co-authorship, personal connection, or competitive interest with any of the authors.
- Reviewers must not use unpublished data or concepts from submitted manuscripts for their own research or personal gain.
- Editor Responsibilities
- Editors must recuse themselves from managing manuscripts in which they have a personal, financial, or academic conflict of interest (e.g., articles authored by colleagues from the same department or close research partners).
- In such cases, the editorial assignment will be delegated to an independent member of the editorial board to ensure an unbiased review process.
